Industrial switches for Utilities and Smart Grid environments

Industrial and Utilities applications present unique challenges for network planners, in this era of evolving technologies, transmission and distribution utilities face a range of challenges at their high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) substations.
Developments in automation and Teleprotection require that old RTUs will coexist next to new 61850-compliant IEDs, Ethernet and TCP-based messaging protocols
The developments need to:
• Support Ethernet-based IEC 61850 substation communications for mission-critical automation traffic within the substation and between SCADA control centers
• Enable co-existence of serial-based RTUs and new Ethernet IEDs with full redundancy over various topologies using L2&L3 fiber optic rings or built in 2G/3G/4G cellular for modems for backup or in case of no availability of fixed infrastructure.
• Comply with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 environmental standards

These developments are applicable to utility- and customer-owned energy infrastructure such as substation applications supporting electrical transmission and distribution, renewable generation, oil and gas, water, distributed generation, co-generation, and trackside operations.
Raisecom Gazelle product series is designed to meet strict industrial demands for the harsh, rugged environments and mission-critical applications often found in the energy and utility industries, high way traffic control and surveillance systems.
The products are equipped with full suite of L2 and L3 capabilities, Ethernet OAM, Advanced quality of service (QoS) capabilities to support mission-critical communications for SCADA substation communications and resilience Rings protocols (G.8032, 802.3ad and MRP/RRPS). Gazelle series was designed in compliance with IEC61850 and IEEE1613 standards as well IP40 protection.
