Raisecom’s Passive CWDM solution stood out from the crowd of 30+ bidders as one of the few selected vendors with absolute advantages and a comprehensive performance and good prices.

5G fronthaul requires a lot of bandwidth to be delivered through optic fibers. In view of that, China Telecom issued its first procurement bid for passive CWDM in 2020 Q1, indicating CTG’s intention to apply passive CWDM in the field of wireless fronthaul. More than 30 vendors responded to this project bid for 150,000 units of Passive CWDM equipment. The awarded equipment is expected to be used for China Telecom 5G base station construction in 2020, coverage enhancement for blind spots in 4G network and fiber optic resources optimization.

As early as 2013, Raisecom first time applied passive WDM IPL equipment to the 3G base station fronthaul construction in domestic market. Raisecom products have played a positive role in helping the operators save the fiber optic cable resources and achieve cost reduction and efficiency gains, during the period of large-scale deployment of 4G base stations in China.

The Chinese telecommunication market entered the rapid construction phase of 5G base stations in 2020. Anticipating the 5G evolution worldwide, Raisecom is continuing our RnD investment and efforts in 5G fronthaul products and solutions.  On the technological front, Raisecom is devoted in improving the CWDM solution with semi-passive WDM solutions to further enhance capacity, line protection, wavelength inventory and overall manageability. Raisecom is confident that its products can meet requirements of various X-haul networking access, making it feasible to build a 5G fronthaul network cost-effectively.
